Metamorphosism

We of course all understand it, being intellectuals.

gmail

Anyone else getting sick of those numbers on the gmail login page, counting counting counting, ticking away the nanoseconds of your life, ticking ticking ticking, incessantly?

I thought it was an April Fool's Day joke, but it seems to be keep going and going and going. I hate it, too.

heheheh, you're not the only one to notice.

From another blog:
"I have to tell you, that spinning number really freaked me out when I first saw it. I didn’t know why at the time, but I got the shivers every time I went to the Gmail login page. I jammed in my user name and password as fast as I could and then clicked off to another tab so I wouldn’t have to watch the dreaded number while the login info was processing. At first I chalked it off to my own neurosis, or to watching too many movies with time bombs in them."

Not really, but I don't use gmail much, so I haven't had to deal with it that often. I didn't notice it at first. At least it's counting upwards.

It's a bit wanky though.

What numbers?

Either I'm blind, or google doesn't show them to Safari Users.

I consider myself blessed.

little javascript numbers or something, counting away our future days in purgatory or something. visible in msie and firefox...

Posted by: mig at April 14, 2005 10:01 AM

we're already in purgatory, sweetheart.

Posted by: jilbur at April 14, 2005 12:53 PM

you're so super fake for having written this on your blog! (and vain, too. almost like me. i can't believe it! don't give in to the urge to write every fucking thing that you think makes you look cool or something...)
oh, and i love you too.

My so-called 'sweetie' of six years offered me a gmail account the other day, and now I see her ulterior motive(s)! She longs to cackle, as the minutes of my life tick away!
I would divorce her if I could. (We're not married and can never be, because we are already rotting in hell, yet Mary Cheney is not? but anyway.)
All I know is I'm not eating anymore of her creamed corn.

TH: lately i get the german-language login page, and there are no little numbers on it.

Posted by: mig at April 16, 2005 12:45 PM

I have enough countdown clocks in my life, thank you kindly. I'll stick to yahoo or the email that comes with my broadband service...

Posted by: lucy at April 16, 2005 03:06 PM
