french vacation

my "easter" vacation in france: one month after the actual easter celebrations: saturday, i wake up, it's snowing. so i'll not go rowing and just hang around, like a normal girl who's not at school. sunday, my host sister wakes me up, hey, are you still sleeping or what, the kitchen, living room and salon burned down... i get up, drag myself into the living room where i talk to my host brother who's just calling from malaysia. seeing my host family frantically shaking their heads, i decide not to tell him the canapé he was hoping to get for his appartement was the reason the house almost burned down. and lying outside, in the rain, reduced to cinders, like three of my jackets and all my school stuff. the rest of the vaction we stay at friends' places, eat at the grand parents' etc. thank god the sun's shining now and it's really really warm. oh, and i found a recipe for banana chocolate chip softies (=cookies) which the grandpa really likes. since his teeth hurt and he can only eat soft stuff, he lives off soup and soft banana cookies.

auto immune ... something.

fat guys in comics

so, why are the rich fat guys in comics (asterix, largo winch, thorgal, i already finished reading all of those my host brother has in his huge collection. reading his economy books right now.), the ones who are lying on cushions, giving out orders, there's also always one girl wechtling air and one girl playing a retarded harp, wearing less than bikinis (i mean, hey girls, if you play the harp like one other emancipated blogger, what are you doing next to this... boat potato?), so these guys, (i think you've got the picture, i hope at least), who are always eating fruits, with their head tilted in one direction or another, why are they always fat if all they're apparently eating is fruits? (ok, raisins, fast glucides, fructose and stuff, but that still doesn't explain it) eating fruits makes fat? hey, i think someone's read too much comics lately... anyway, in biology i learned recently that if you eat fast glucides one day and slow, complex glucides the other, that makes you shit more often... thanks, france! (i'm going to remember this the rest of my life...)

looks

in france, when someone looks at you, he actually sees you. or, here, when people look at me, they make comments on my facial features. they say stuff noone has ever said to me in austria, and would never say. i mean, not creepy stuff or anything, but just, i dunno. (about my eyes, and that my skin is clean, and that i have my own style and stuff...) it's just crazy, but i guess that's also the experience. i'm just not used to it. back in austria i'll probably miss it... (cause it's not as if they're not saying nice things...) to be precise: in austria, my father says, beta, you have a nice face, or something. in france, girls at school say, (while we were eating, actually) you don't have many pimples. or, hum, your eyes, are, hum, not japanese, but, hum, still, hum, a bit different. pretty of course (quickly), but, hum... or my host parents, hm, strange, your eyes are not blue. as i said, i'll probably get used to it... (just to warn you guys, back home, i'll expect you to say things like, oh, you have long thumbs, or your hair's not like it was yesterday, just to show you're noticing!)
