i was supposed to play at a concert in my hometown. got the special harp transport thing from the music school. yesterday evening. skipped physics so i would be home in time. tuned my harp, practiced. and then... someone forgot to put me on the program. oh well. less stress.
btw, venice is nice, and i like dragonboats.
and what i also wanted to say: i wish i could draw bugs, then i could draw him and not he me... we were sitting in a car, criticizing pedestrians, when he says, "everytime i see someone carrying a guitar like that, i think cello........ hey wait, it's a violin..." so, whatever...
so i'm just gonna rant about anything to make it less sad.
1. i have to read schnitzler, der weg ins freie, and maybe it's just because i have to read it for school, but it is so incredibly boring i fall asleep every time i pick it up. i guess i have to read it all to find out why i had to read it at all.
2. i found the apocalyptica cd where lauri and ville sing in mig's car, and i really really like it. i mean, the cellos and the drums and everything... the contrast can't be big enough; i never knew cellos could rock that much... but that's enough about them only-four-strings-instruments.
3. school. apparently i can only talk about school. it's over soon, and i think that's good, because the year has been demanding enough. i just had a hard maths test two days after i came back from france (yes, again), and know i'm stuck on this book. i should do some stuff for various english projects, and a history portfolio, and i never really have time to write. (by the way, anyone have great ideas how he would name a thriving underground literature magazine?)
4. music. let me think... what i'm playing right now is called... prelude something, by haendel, arr. by nicanor zabaleta or whatever his name is. it's an eleven-pager or something, and it' got a lot of energy in it. i'm looking forward to being able to really play it; cause it actually delights me... delighting other people is only the side-effect.
5. my dad's up to something for my birthday... but hey, i love scavenger hunts...
